he app helps users remotely interact with detailed 3D models and collaborate in real time
GÖPPINGEN, Germany , Feb. 2, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — TeamViewer , a global leader in solutions for remote connectivity and the digitalization of work processes, today introduced the TeamViewer Spatial Support app. With the new application, TeamViewer’s groundbreaking 3D visualizations and real-time support can now also be experienced on the Apple Vision Pro. The German tech company is showing a solution for immersive aftersales support and field service of the future and at the same time is demonstrating its own innovative strength, speed and efficiency with the launch.
TeamViewer’s Spatial Support app on the iPhone [1] uses ARKit and the integrated LiDAR scanner to create detailed 3D models of devices that need to be serviced or repaired by a technician in the field. In an AR-supported video call, a connected expert using the Spatial Support app on the Apple Vision Pro can interact with the 3D models that were previously captured with the iPhone. Using virtual annotations and 3D elements directly on the synchronized 3D model, the expert can then guide the on-site technician through the process in real time.
Brian Ballard , Senior Vice President Product Management & Solution Delivery at TeamViewer: “Remote support is TeamViewer’s DNA. The Apple Vision Pro offers our customers a new, previously unattainable level of realism, visual depth and attention to detail. The unique immersive technology opens up possibilities that go far beyond current desktop support: customers can much more easily share important information about real, complex objects with experts around the world, who in turn can better help them maintain machines or systems on site can. The result is faster response times and fewer errors. The technology bridges the distance between a technical problem on site and the right technical expert, thereby helping to alleviate the shortage of skilled workers and enabling rapid knowledge transfer.”
With its leading productivity platform Frontline, TeamViewer is well positioned to bring an app aimed at industrial applications to the market for the Apple Vision Pro. TeamViewer also has in-depth know-how in the digital transformation of processes in areas such as manufacturing, after-sales and field service, which is underlined by strategic partnerships with industry giants such as SAP, Microsoft and Siemens.
TeamViewer customers can use their existing license to integrate the solution into their daily work. For more information about TeamViewer’s after-sales support solutions, visit the Apple App Store .
