In hopes of updating its manufacturing capabilities, HP plans to expand into the Indian market.
HP is planning to expand and has its eyes set on India. Citing the subcontinent as a significant market, HP hopes to expand its PC selling and key software development there.
India is one of the largest and key markets for several tech giants. The internal teams of HP India have established their robust capabilities in connecting with customers and elevating business growth.
But on the sidelines, India entails an added benefit for HP.
“From an internal perspective, it’s also a key market. We already conduct a lot of internal development and research here, which we use in products sold worldwide,” stated HP President and CEO Enrique Lores.
HP believes there’s immense growth potential and significant market opportunities for the organization in India. From an expansive customer base and highly skilled workers to a diversifying supply chain, India could offer a significant push to the tech giant’s manufacturing abilities.
PC’s generally entail low market penetration in India. So, these untested waters could actually clear a pathway for HP to experiment, especially with next-gen computers with AI capabilities.
With the Indian govt hoping to concretize the country as a manufacturing hub, this pivot is crucial for the future of tech in this country and the organization itself.
HP’s strategic move could also comprise exciting new projects, such as leveraging local culture to develop new models. While the company has been undertaking this in Spain, India could provide different directions, given its diversity.
As a business move for HP, its expansion could open avenues for a large and majorly young population who continue to seek diverse opportunities.
