Ali, P.E. as the newly formed company’s president. In this role, Ali is focused on fostering relationships with key public and agency stakeholders, developing strategic growth initiatives, and reaching annual corporate revenue goals and profitability targets.

Ali, a Professional Engineer licensed in both New York and Puerto Rico, has more than 36 years’ experience in the construction and design industry. His portfolio spans a wide range of projects, including programs related to construction management services and civil, transportation, and environmental engineering. Ali’s wealth of experience with diverse, transformative projects involving strong, trusted working relationships with various agencies includes the MTA, NYCHA, PANYNJ, NYCT, TBTA, CTDT, NYCDEP, NYCDDC, NYSDOT, NJDOT, NJTA, Thruway Authority, MassPort, MBTA, MassDOT, and PRHTA.

Prior to joining GWI, Ali served in leadership roles with a variety of iconic global engineering firms, including Stone & Webster, The Shaw Group, and CB&I. Most recently, he served as president of a New York-based engineering firm where he was contract executive for various public agency projects in infrastructure, facilities, water, wastewater, and vertical construction management. Alongside his presidency, Ali was the national director at the firm where he managed multiple public agency contracts in New York City, the Tri-State Area, Massachusetts, and Puerto Rico as project executive. In both roles, Ali participated in client executive meetings, provided amicable dispute resolutions, managed MBE/WBE objectives to meet project milestones, and oversaw cross-functional teams to deliver successful projects.
Ali holds a master’s degree in civil engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology. He is a member of the American Society of Highway Engineers and the American Society of Civil Engineers and is a past director of the Construction Management Association of America of New York and New Jersey, or CMAA-NYNJ.
