Cyata was founded by veterans of Unit 8200, Cellebrite, and Check Point – security research leaders with years of experience reverse engineering and uncovering critical vulnerabilities, and shaping real-world defenses. CEO Shahar Tal is a 20-year cybersecurity veteran who led malware and vulnerability research at Check Point and spent eight years at Cellebrite, leading the company’s research labs before transitioning to corporate business development. VP R&D Dror Roth is a renowned Unit 8200 researcher who was a technology leader at Cellebrite and Talon. CTO Baruch Weizman served as section head at Unit 8200 before leading core teams at two cybersecurity startups. The company has assembled a team of 12 elite cybersecurity professionals in Tel Aviv, with 60% of management coming from digital forensics leader Cellebrite. The seed round included participation from notable angel investors, including two former CEOs of Cellebrite, Ron Serber and Yossi Carmil.
